Product Testing*

Shockstrip® helmet pads have been vigorously tested by independent
laboratories and experts across the country in three critical areas:

Drop Testing

Linear Impact Testing
Friction Coefficiency

RESULTS SUMMARY:

  • Football helmets with Shockstrips perform significantly better than helmets without Shockstrips.
  • In all tests, helmets with Shockstrips showed a significant decrease in impact, the Severity Index (SI) and Head Injury Criteria (HIC), the standard measurements in helmet certification.
  • Linear testing on helmets using Shockstrips showed a decrease in the probability of impact, with 40% of all tests showing a significant decrease in impact.
  • Testing also showed a decrease in loading to the cervical spine.
  • Shockstrip® does not damage the surface or shorten the life-span of the helmet.
  • There is no significant change in the friction coefficient between standard helmets
and those fitted with Shockstrip® helmet pads.

*PLEASE NOTE: 1) No helmet pad can prevent or eliminate the risk of concussions or other serious head injuries while playing sports; 2) Scientists have also not reached agreement on how the results of impact absorption tests relate to concussions; and 3) No conclusions about a reduction of risk or severity of concussive injury should be drawn from impact absorption tests.

“Parents have the

  football helmet it
  will protect them
  from virtually
  everything.”
